Working With Children Requirements

Hosting Under Age Students

The State Governments have varying Acts that promote and protect the rights, interests and well-being of children in Australia. This means that all members of a Homestay household who are over the age of eighteen (including children) need to have a working with children check so that they can legally host students who are underage.

ASAP Homestays arranges this for all of our Host Families in Queensland. We are bound by regulations outside of Queensland that require families living in NSW and VIC  to apply themselves. Follow the links on the right for more information and application forms for each state. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have a query.

Please note, it is our company policy that all host family members over the age of 18, regardless of the age of student being hosted, apply for this card.
